Last year it hired 350. The thrust on hiring comes as part of a new vision to take Biocon to the $1 billion revenue mark in the next five years. In fiscal 2013, the company's revenues stood at a little under $500 million. The company's chairman and managing director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said hiring would be done across sales and marketing, manufacturing, and research services, with about 25% of the net hires being inducted into the research business. On Friday, the company also announced its results for the January-Ma rch quarter and the full fiscal year. Net profit in the quarter was Rs 249 crore.
