New Delhi, Dec. 15: The panel that is entrusted with the task of scrutinising applications for new bank licences will hold its meeting tomorrow. "We are having a meeting on December 16 in Delhi," former RBI governor Bimal Jalan, who is heading the panel, said. The committee held its first meeting on November 1.

Star Alliance

New Delhi, Dec. 15: A team of Star Alliance, which has decided to restart Air India's integration process suspended since 2011, will arrive here on Wednesday to assess the steps needed to be taken by the national carrier to blend its network with that of the global airlines' grouping.

BSE move

Mumbai, Dec. 15: The Bombay Stock Exchange is planning to launch interest rate derivatives and equity derivatives with advance systems by January, managing director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said, adding the bourse's primary objective is capital formation for India.

Steel prices

Mumbai, Dec. 15: Domestic steel prices are likely to go up by around Rs 1,000 a tonne soon on account of an increase in freight charges by the railways and hike in iron ore price by the National Mineral Development Corporation, industry officials said.

Snapdeal

New Delhi, Dec. 15: Eyeing to raise more funds to fuel its expansion, homegrown online marketplace Snapdeal is looking to list on the US bourses in the next two years.
