Shares of SpiceJet soared nearly 9 per cent after it announced a three-year deal with Singapore's largest budget airline Tigerair to increase connectivity between flights operated by both carriers.

Starting from January 6, 2014, customers travelling on SpiceJet's domestic network from 14 Indian cities can enjoy connectivity onto Tigerair's Singapore-bound flights through Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
The 14 Indian cities are Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Delhi, Goa, Indore, Mangalore, Madurai, Pune, Bengaluru, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam.
Similarly, starting from Janu ary 14, 2014, Tigerair customers from Singapore will also enjoy easy access to SpiceJet's wide domestic network.
"This partnership will hugely benefit travelers from India and Singapore," said Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer of SpiceJet Ltd.
