Copper futures fall on global cues, subdued demand - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Amid weak global cues and subdued domestic demand, copper prices fell by 0.70 per cent to Rs 403 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month June fell by Rs 2.85, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 403 per kg in business turnover of 302 lots.

The metal for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 2.60, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 399.45 per kg in 9,261 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global trend and sluggish demand at domestic spot markets.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell 0.20 per cent to $ 6,469 per tonne, while on the Shanghai Futures Exchange for June delivery lost 0.20 per cent to 44,760 yuan ($7,230) per tonne.
