Bhubaneswar: With uncertainty prevailing over Posco's Rs fifty two,000-crore mega metal venture close to Paradip, Odisha authorities says the ball is in the Centre's courtroom with regard to uncooked materials linkage for the South Korean agency.

"The state authorities has complied with all of the queries of the Centre relating to its suggestion of prospecting licence (PL) in favour of Posco. The final letter of request to the Centre on giving PL to Posco was issued on November 1, 2014," Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick stated.

"As there was no response so removed from the Centre on the state's request to provide PL in favour of Posco, we now have not put any situation for the corporate," Mallick stated including Odisha authorities on January 9, 2009 had advisable 2500 hectares of Khandadhar iron ore reserve in Sundergarh district for Posco.

However, the Centre had sought extra info from the state authorities on its suggestion in favour of Posco on January 30, 2014.

The Centre needed clarification from the state authorities based mostly on a March 10, 2013 judgement of Supreme Court, the minister stated.

"The metal and mines division on March 6, 2014 submitted all required info to the Centre," the minister knowledgeable the State Assembly in a written reply.

The minister additional stated that the Centre on October 10, 2014 needed the state to submit separate proposals on notified and non-notified areas in Khandadhar iron ore reserve.

"The state authorities in its reply on November 1, 2014 has requested to accord PL to Posco over 2,082.502 hectare of notified space of Khandadhar iron ore reserve," Mallick stated, including the state was but to get any reply from the Centre.

He stated the state authorities has been in negotiation with the Centre over in accordance PL to Posco over Khandadhar iron ore reserve as an alternative of placing it on public sale. "This is as a result of, the state authorities had really helpful PL in favour of Posco a lot earlier than the MMDR (Amendment) Bill, 2015, getting nod of Parliament," the minister identified.

Claiming that the state authorities was dedicated in the direction of Posco challenge, Mallick stated permission has been granted to the metal main to make use of water from Hansua Nullha in Jagatsinghpur district whereas developing the venture and use Mahanadi water from Jobra in Cuttack to be used in the proposed metal plant.
