Sun Pharma, 5 Others Add Rs. 53284 Crore to Market Value - NDTV

New Delhi: The combined market valuation of six of the top ten Sensex companies rose by Rs 53,284.6 crore in the week ended April 17, with Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Oil & Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) emerging as the biggest gainers.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), ONGC, ITC, Sun Pharma, State Bank of India (SBI) and HDFC made gains in their market capitalisation or M-Cap during the week.

On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Infosys and Coal India Ltd (CIL) witnessed a decline in their market values. The four together lost Rs 50,552 crore in market capitalisation.

The M-Cap of Sun Pharma soared by Rs 17,938 crore to Rs 2,49,580.69 crore during the week, while that of ONGC jumped by Rs 17,239.31 crore to Rs 2,82,245.62 crore.

The market cap of RIL surged by Rs 7,531.52 crore to Rs 2,99,924.43 crore and that of ITC rose by Rs 4,568.85 crore to Rs 2,81,945.90 crore.

SBI's valuation moved up Rs 4,085.75 crore to Rs 2,20,214.48 crore and HDFC added Rs 1,921.12 crore to its corresponding figure of Rs 2,05,103.56 crore.

In contrast, the M-Cap of TCS slumped by Rs 34,424.65 crore to Rs 4,85,020.22 crore.

TCS, India's largest software exporter, had on Thursday reported a 27 per cent slump in the March quarter net profit, impacted by a one-time employee bonus of Rs 2,628-crore.

Infosys lost Rs 5,897.41 crore in its market value, taking its capitalisation to Rs 2,50,590.92 crore.

HDFC Bank's M-Cap went down Rs 5,840.13 crore to Rs 2,55,386.81 crore.

Coal India's market cap lost ground by Rs 4,389.87 crore to Rs 2,40,716.65 crore.

In the top ten league, TCS retained the top slot, followed by RIL, ONGC, ITC, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Sun Pharma, CIL, SBI and HDFC.
