Nalco posted 4.75 Percent Increase in Sales Turnover at 6809 Crore Rupees - Jagran Josh

Aluminium giant National Aluminium Company (Nalco) posted 4.75 per cent jump in sales turnover at 6809 crore rupees in 2012-13. The rise in sales turnover was mostly attributed to higher production and sale of alumina.

It has also plans for ambitious new ventures, expansion and diversification programmes. NALCO is pursuing with Odisha government plans to obtain Pottangi Bauxite Mines, which has a mineable reserve of about 70 million tonnes.

The Nalco is also planning to set up a 5500 crore rupees greenfield Alumina Refinery in Gujarat for which Bauxite shall be supplied by Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation.

Commissioned during 1985-87, Nalco has emerged to be a star performer in production, export of alumina and aluminium, and more significantly, in propelling a self-sustained growth.
