Radhakrishnan leaves the company to become an independent consultant on international legal matters, Infosys said in a statement. "Infosys is happy to be his first significant client."
Radhakrishnan told ET that there is no discord with Infosys. "Murthy is my mentor and he supported my decision."
He has also been the chief compliance officer and global head of immigration and employee matters at the Bangalore-based company. He was part of the Infosys executive council, which was disbanded effective April 1.
Radhakrishnan, 39, said he plans to pick up stakes in startups, starting with Chennai-based mobile application startup Airloyal.
Infosys appointed Parvatheesam Kanchnadam, an associate vice president, as the chief compliance officer and ombudsman for its whistleblower policy, the statement said.
Other senior executives who left Infosys since Murthy's return include global sales head Basab Pradhan and board member V Balakrishnan. Murthy was recalled by Infosys board of directors as chairman in June last year amid criticism of the company's under-performance.
