Renault's Duster which is also sold as a Dacia in some markets has achieved the milestone of one million worldwide sales. The Duster is by far the company's most successful offering and has been instrumental in notching up good sales figure for the company.
It has taken the Duster four years to reach this figure. The landmark vehicle was manufactured at the company's Brazil facility and will be delivered to a customer in the same country. The Duster is sold in more than 100 countries and is manufactured in five factories across the globe, namely, Pitesti (Romania), Curitiba (Brazil), Envigado (Colombia), Moscow (Russia) and Chennai (India).
The Duster has been an incredible success due to its spacious cabin, all-terrain ability and value for money proposition, and also because of the introduction of the model in international markets with, an attention to the specific needs of that region. Examples being, the cold climate version for Russia, flexi-fuel version for Brazil and a right-hand drive version for India.
The Renault Duster was launched in India in 2012 and since then has been a sales success selling 85,974 units. The company also exports the Duster from its Chennai facility. Renault has also showcased the facelifted Duster internationally and this model is expected to be launched soon in India.
