The Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC Ltd), the country's leading housing finance company, launched its first school here on Sunday. The HDFC School, which has come up in Sushant Lok III, would start its sessions with academic year 2015-2016.
The school was inaugurated by HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh. Currently it is a primary school, taking admissions from pre-nursery to Class III this year. The administration is in the process of setting up a five-acre school campus for its higher secondary wing.
The school will follow the National Curriculum Framework 2005 and will be a affiliated to the CBSE.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Parekh said: "Our education initiative is an answer to the question – 'Why can't equal opportunities be provided to all Indians to secure quality education for their children leading to better careers and better lives?'."
