The airline currently has 17 Boeing 737s and 15 Q400s — sufficient to operate about 220 daily flights. SpiceJet lost many of its Boeing planes after the Delhi High Court this month ordered the aviation regulator to deregister the jets, following disputes with three leasors. As many as 21 leased aircraft of the airline had been repossessed by leasors some months back, said an official.
"We are talking to the leasors and are hopeful of making them agree to let the planes stay with us. The airline's condition has changed under the new promoter Ajay Singh and we are hopeful they will agree. Once they agree not to take planes back from us, then we will speak to give us some of the repossessed planes," said a senior SpiceJet official. The airline is getting three Boeing 737s on wet lease very soon.
"One of the leasors who was trying to take three 737s back from us has agreed to let them stay with us. We will talk to two leasors of eight planes early next week and are hopeful they too will agree," said the official.via Business - Google News http://ift.tt/1CVLQ7E
