The government's move comes after several reports emerged that the company is operating its cabs in the capital despite the ban. "We have directed Uber to submit sworn affidavit declaring therein that you are complying with the ban order imposed upon your company," said a senior government official.
In January, the company applied for a radio taxi licence to operate through its subsidiary, Resource Expert India Pvt Ltd. Uber's application is still pending before the authorities concerned.
In its letter to the cab company, government said there are reports that despite the ban order, the company continues to operate the cab service.
